Designing products largely comes from an idea that you understand will provide significant value to the consumer. But if you only use the idea that comes to mind, you are entering into a lottery of ideas and with very low odds you may be on the right track.
What separates an idea from a good product is quality research work. The sooner we accept the reality that we must empathize, define, ideate, iterate and test until we reach product-market fit, the faster we will get a product that truly brings value to the audience you want to reach. But what is product-market fit or PMF?
In short: a zero-waste product.

In 2021, we launched a usability research because our intention was, and will continue to be, for the app to provide added value to vulnerable groups such as the underbanked. We quickly hit a wall because almost no one could use the app. After racking our brains trying to understand: why can’t anyone use it? We discovered that we were forgetting the context of an underbanked person; most people don’t understand what it means to deposit. This research led us to rename the button to Reload, and I’m not lying when I tell you that 100% of users were able to complete the flow correctly. That’s how we achieved product-market fit in this flow.

Products don't necessarily have to have the most complex infrastructure or cutting-edge technological advancements. Sometimes, to create a useful and accessible product, you just need to take a step back, listen to the user, and change a single word.
